Dear Mr. & Mrs. Van Der Zalm,
Please accept my apologies for the comments I made yesterday in my e-mail. I did believe I was responding only to Genee but that does not excuse my comments. The Chamber has been very involved in trying to keep the beach environmentally friendly and yet still be receptive and supportive of all of our neighbors along the water.
After reading your response back to me, I more fully understand your concerns and frustrations. In no way do I wish to see illegal or otherwise just morally wrong activities taking place in front of your home. You are right, this is not in the best interest of the community. I, as well as, the rest of the Chamber of Commerce, only want what is best for all concerned. Our first responsibility needs to be to the members of our community and I am pleased that this issue has been worked out.
If you continue to see any of these activities, I would encourage you to call the Sheriff’s department, each and every time, so that they cannot say they weren’t informed on an ongoing basis and that they hopefully will send a car to our area more often.
Again, please accept my sincere apologies. I will follow this e-mail with a phone call to you later in the day.
Thanks,
Yvonne Schaff
